Elle McAndrews gracefully weaves the best parts of country, jazz, folk and soul. The classically trained musician and professional music therapist approaches her craft from a profoundly authentic and tender disposition. Born and raised on a farm just outside Calgary, she was homeschooled until the age of 17 when she went to a local high school to have a proper graduation ceremony. Studying piano since the age of 7, Elle worked hard and made it to Grade 10 of the Royal Conservatory of Piano. Her life’s trajectory has always been through the prism of a musical compass. Elle continued her music studies at the impressive Capilano University in North Vancouver where she graduated with honours in the renowned Music Therapy program.

After honing her vocal chops in church choirs, Elle has been writing and performing for the past 7 years. She has spent that time working closely with pop princess Sam Selci, Yolanda Sargeant and opening for The Deep Dark Woods. A powerful songwriter in her own right, Elle won the Original Music Showcase in 2019 which allowed her to begin working on her debut solo EP, Hanging By A Thread. Her music takes you on a scenic walk through her creative mind. Her songs are drenched in emotion, soul and undeniable talent.

Elle has travelled the world extensively, simultaneously chasing love and running from it. These experiences have shaped her world view and become intrinsically linked to her powerful songwriting. She captures the scope of the world but maintains a subtle and gentle execution. Her calm compositions feel the weight of the world.

Inspired by everyone from Dolly Parton to Lou Reed and Lady Gaga, Elle plays a unique style of country, fusing down-home storytelling with a contemporary flare. Her music is simultaneously timeless yet fresh, a wonderful and rare dichotomy. After releasing a new single in July 2020, she plans to finish recording and releasing her EP in the Fall. The short album is a celebration of finding one’s voice, and what a voice it is. The collection of songs showcase her illustrious skill and depth. Her music emulates the intimacy and kindness the world is starving for right now. She shatters your heart into tiny pieces then assembles it back together like the beautiful human mosaic you were born to be.
